NOT a Mistake!

I have to disagree. The purpose of CD singles is to promote the band, and especially the song that the single is titled after. Not to promote a different song. However, for the uninformed, I will clarify. This version of "My December" is the original version they did. There are only two versions - one is on their remix album "Reanimation" which is the upbeat version. The other is this one, which is my personal favorite. It shows the versatility of the band. It's wrong to hate this single because the version of a B-side is not the one you heard on the radio. If you wish to hear the one you heard on the radio, purchase "Reanimation." The Reanimation version is upbeat, while this one is, as was said, a slow, moody ballad.
Now for the actual single itself. One Step Closer is a perfect angsty song, delivering hard-hitting guitar riffs, vocals, and lyics. It's amazing how well the blend comes together to form an addictive song, even if you don't like Chester Bennington screaming "SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!" This is also a great single because, as I said before, it shows the diversity and versatility of the band. Where One Step Closer is more metal than anything else, My December is a direct contrasts to it - slow, gentle, brooding, and High Voltage is a pure rap, giving Mike Shinoda a time to shine. This single is great for three different types of music lovers - metal, classical, and hip-hop - and I would suggest picking this single up, as well as their albums "Hybrid Theory," "Reanimation," and coming March 25th, "Meteora."
Everything you say to me drives me one step closer to the edge, and I'm about to break.
