(10/10)mr. reed lives in that rarefied atmosphere populated by the likes of the rolling stones, david bowie, van morrison, bob dylan... y' know, those guys. it is from there, and indeed at times from beyond even those exalted heights, that he bestows his gifts upon us lowly rabble. this is one of those times. there is not one artist, including those mentioned above, that has made a more well-conceived, well-executed, and enjoyable album as this one. indeed, this and 'metal machine music' are, to my mind, lou's two quintessential albums, and two of the most important sound recordings in the human experience. ecstasy indeed!
