Bedtime Stories: Great Madonna R&B CD
Review Score:

(10/10)
1992 was a pretty bad year for Madonna. She released her "Erotica" as her eighth album and it gave her so many bad reviews from her critics. She released her illustrated book, SEX, which also got her bad reviews. She starred in the lead role of Rebecca Carlson in the sex-filled, court-drama, "Body Of Evidence".
In 1994, Madonna decided to put her clothes back on and go to the next level. The "Erotica" album featured Madonna in a sexually explicit sexy look, with a sound that was 1990s Pop and edgy R&B combined. For her ninth album, "Bedtime Stories", which was released in October of 1994, Madonna reinvented her look to a more mature, but still rather sexy, look of 1994, with a sound that was strictly smooth Techno R&B, with a slight combination of Pop. The look she had created for this album went perfect with the sound. Look at the front cover and you'll see what I mean.
SURVIVAL
Although, I really do enjoy this song, I still can't seem to figure out just what is about. In my opinion, I think she's just referring to surviving in the real world.
SECRET
The first single from the album. When I first heard this song, I knew that I would be playing it over and over again. The acoustic guitar is just incredible, the drum beats, even though they are engineered, sound amazing, her voice sounds unbelievable. What more could you ask for?
I'D RATHER BE YOUR LOVER
Now this is a song that I have always enjoyed. I love its funky sound and only Madonna could have made it sound this way.
DON'T STOP
Madonna had already told the world to get up and dance when she released "Everybody" as the first single from her first album. That one was, even for a strictly song that was strictly Pop, was sort of raw and edgy. In this song, she tells not only all of us, but her lover as well, to just get up and dance, but this one sounds more mature and fun, not that "Everybody" wasn't fun, for it definitely was.
INSIDE OF ME
Madonna had already written a song for her mother, which was "Rain". Madonna then decided to write another for her mother and this song is the one she had written. The music is sort of strange, but it is still a great gesture to show her mother how much she loves and misses her.
HUMAN NATURE
The fourth & final single from the album. I always knew that Madonna was very outspoken and I always loved that about her because it showed that she is not going to let anybody walk all over her. But when she recorded this song, I found myself finding even more respect for her, for in this song, she tells all of the critics that she is, without a doubt, completely not sorry for her "Erotica" album, SEX book, and her role in "Body Of Evidence", as well as being extremely sexual in 1992 and 1993. That's the way to be. Tell all of your critics to go to hell.
FORBIDDEN LOVE
Even though, Madonna included this song on her 1995 album, "Something To Remember", for that album is her first greatest ballads compilation, this song was never released as a single. I guess Madonna held this particular ballad close to her heart and felt it needed to be on "Something To Remember". Anyway, this song is, without a doubt, a classic.
LOVE TRIED TO WELCOME ME
This another beautiful song. The music is very smooth in its mixture of light Pop and R&B sound and Madonna's voice is incredible.
SANCTUARY
You all may find it strange to learn this, but this song is, indeed, a ballad. Yes, the song is very strange, but it is a love song. A great one, I might add.
BEDTIME STORY
The third single from the album. Most people found this to be Madonna's worst song ever, but what do those people know? They all have IQs of 23. Those people are so stupid, they cannot even spell IQ. This song is incredible. Very strange, but incredible. The video is a bedtime story that will, indeed, give children nightmares.
TAKE A BOW
The second single from the album. This song was Madonna's eleventh #1 hit single and it was her biggest selling #1 hit, where it remained a #1 hit for 7 to 9 straight weeks. A lot of her fans, even her critics, took this song to their hearts. It is definitely one of her most beautiful songs and I give her so much credit for this song.
This is an album all you fans must have. Yes, I already have this album and it stands as my sixth favorite Madonna album. If you are a fan of Madonna's, such as myself, and if you do not have this album, then stop lazying around and buy this album, while you still have the chance.
