After the lukewarm reception of Erotica and Bedtime Stories, Madonna took one of her longest breaks. She did Evita and won a Golden Globe for it. But her greatest achievment was on the way. Ray Of Light opened to excellent reviews and sold 4 million copies, her biggest album in nearly 10 years. This was my first Madonna album but not my last. Drowned World, Ray Of Light, Candy Perfume Girl, Sky Fits Heaven, Shanti/Astangi, Frozen, Power Of Goodbye and Mer Girl are the best. That's most of the songs, too! They all rock actually! This is her most mature and important album. It's on Rolling Stone's 500 best ever list and deserves to be! Buy it.
