I purchased this album at K - Mart on family trip Hershey, PA. It was supposed to be a collection of Madonna's best love songs. I knew just about every track on the album, with the exception of "One More Chance", "Something To Remember" and "I Want You", the latter a haunting reworking of a Marvin Gaye. I enjoyed every song n this album, but then I thought, are these really all the best?

Not that the songs are terrible. Songs like "Crazy For You", "Live To Tell" and "Take A Bow" show Madonna at her softest. Many people don't know that besides looking hot, she's one hell of a singer. Still, for 14 tracks, they could've included a few more tracks. I would've loved to have seen "Cherish" included. I think it's Madonna's purest love song, a celebration of the power of true romance. Even faster numbers like "Like A Prayer", "Angel", "True Blue" and "Open Your Heart" are worthy of inclusion. I not saying this album has to include her biggest hits, but those previously mentioned songs easily fall into the love song category and are worthy of inclusion on this album. Anyone with a cd burner and the complete Madonna catalogue can do just as good, maybe better.

Overall, "Something To Remember" is not a bad collection. Every song here has emotion, ache and love conquering them. Still, it's not a complete collection of Madonna's best love songs by any means.
