Once upon a time I ignored Madonna as a passing pop fancy. I knew she could sing, but so could lots of others. When I heard "What it feels like for a girl" I realized that I had not given Madonna credit for being a woman of substance. I decided to revisit her work with an open mind, aided by advice and information from those more knowledgeable. After I listened to "Something to Remember" I knew I had struck gold. Songs of passion, songs of sharing, songs of hope. Some songs remind me of the joy of love shared, others point out the pain caused by loves lost, loves failed. This is an album for the benefit of humans. I may be too old to boogie woogie, but these songs sync up with my heartstrings and confirm that I am not to old to be touched by memories of loves past, present, and future.
