This is a fabulous album. Only Madonna can pull off releasing nothing but ballads(Elton John take note). The songs showcased here are perfectly mixed. The hot steam of "I Want You", (the song that should have been a single), is presented in two versions. The orchestral mix(my favorite) serves up a huge plate of being dumped, and you know Madonna was channelling something vicious there. "One More Chance" is also a single that never was(at least here in the US). It is a simple love song about missed opportunities that come back to haunt you. But...the real kicker is the ultra ballad "You'll See". Perfection. "You'll See" is so empowering that you could cry real tears. Her vocal are haunting-this is high drama! I could listen to "You'll See" for years and not get sick of it. The remaining tracks are comprised of Madonna's ballad back catalog. Highlights...well first off the classic "Live To Tell" which still holds the emotional kick it did 15 years ago, "Oh Father" for anyone who has issue with theirs, and one of Madonna's most romantic songs "Rain"(which just happens to be one of my all time favorite Madonna songs!). "Something To Remember" is a must have for anyone. I don't care if you are black, white, girl or boy, or from Mars. Madonna is this generation's icon and this is further proof of she who is.
