I mean, I adored Alex "The brutalizer" Marquez's intense drumming on earlier Malevolent Creation releases immensely, but Culross simply SMOKES on "Eternal"...
Some people think "The ten commandments" and "Retribution" to be more brutal than "Eternal", and that I simply do not understand...
To me "Eternal" is without a doubt THE most brutal Malevolent Creation release to date, and contrary to popular belief, I actually also think that the vocals of Jason Blachowitz are better and even more abrasive than that of original vocalist Brett Hoffmann... But that's just me.... On some tracks his voice is processed/distorted to further increase the stress-factor...
Blachowitz's voice fits his hatefilled lyrics perfectly, and you really feel that he actually believes in these venomous tirades...
The music won't win any awards for originallity, but that's not Malevolent Creation's goal either... They just want to KILL!!! ...and they surely do on "Eternal"...
More than all, though, this is Dave Culross's album!!!
