This one of my favorite Malevolent Creaion albums in my collection. I bought it sometime in the summer of 1996 along with Internal Bleeding's Voracious Comtempt. For me, anything Malevolent Creation is worth buying and this is no exception. So I bought this album along with the other one I just mentioned and took them home to listen to. When I got around to listening to this CD, I cranked it up and it ripped.
Now for my review. This is a different release than any other Malevolent Creation album. It is not a typical studio album but it's a compilation of different material by the band.
1. The first are 3 songs that didn't make it on Eteral and they are both brutal.
2. The second material are remixes of No Salvation, To Kill and Tastefull Agony. The remixes are almost in the vain of the remixes on Fear Factory's Remanufactured (Cloning Technology) and the Fear Is A Mindkiller EP. Not to worry, it's not electronica at all and this is in no way the next musical direction for the band. Malevolent will ALWAYS be Malevolent. The songs are cool but strange and weird for those Malevolent fans that don't like those 2 Fear Factory albums. For those who are open-minded and can handle it, take a listen. To those who can't take it, skip over the songs. You choice.
3. The third meterial is the demo version of Genetic Afflictions from Stillborn. For those who were dissapointed with Stillborn, this demo version sounds better than the original. It's another treasure for the die hard Malevlnt fan.
4. The fourth material is a cover of Rainning Blood by Slayer. That cover rips.
5. And the last material are 2 songs from one of Malevolent's early demos. They are Remnanats Of Withered Decay and Impaled Existence from The Ten Commandments. The versions of these songs are better than the originals because they sound heavier, brutal and they crush. It's 2 more gems from the die-hard Malevolent fan.
In closing, this is an awesome release for new and even long-time devoted fans of the band. Buy it, self-important freak.
