Personally, I prefer Mandy Moore over all the other teenage pop singers. Britney is definitely the gutsiest of the bunch, but she's a better "dancer" than a singer (exibit A: the 2000 MTV VMA stripper bit), and she's just overexposed, in more ways than one. ('Oops! I Did It Again': yeah, you put out another album.) Christina is probably the most talented singer, but her songs are too slick and she has a tendency to overdo it. Jessica Simpson, quite frankly, just sucks, she has nothing new to offer and her songs are annoying and boring.

Except for some guest VJ spots on MTV, Mandy Moore has kept the lowest profile. I don't think she can compete with Britney or Christina, and she doesn't have to. She's a good singer, and she loves what she's doing. Respect her for that. Sure, a lot of the songs on this CD aren't new, but it's a good mix of the older songs and new stuff. "Walk Me Home" is a better ballad than "I Wanna Be With You." "Everything My Heart Desires" is the best song on the CD. The remixes of "Candy" and "I Wanna Be With You" are the lowlights. People critique this CD like they're critiquing a socio-political documentary or something. Give me a break, it's pop music. It doesn't aim to set the world on fire... if you like this kind of music, get it.
