I've found that Mandy Moore has a great lush whispering voice. It sort of reminiscences Victoria Beckham's. It's soothing for ballads, but not very good with a full on pop scene, as she does in some of the songs on this c.d.
The songs itself, are all in all mediocre, with Cry, Crush, Saturate Me, and In My Pocket as highlights. The others don't particularly stand out.
You can't really hear her voice very well. It's crowded by 4 background vocals and a loud, and sometimes annoying, bass. It's a shame you can't make out her lyrics without help. I swear, I still have no idea what she's saying in "In my Pocket". It's sort of a reminder of the great wave of angry singer/songwriters like Tori Amos- minus the great musical skill.
