Mandy's second release is a dramatic improvement upon her debut album internationally "I Wanna Be With You". On her first release, there were only a handful of songs which were actually decent enough to be granted the opportunity of more than two listens and they included "So Real", "I Wanna Be With You" which was also featured on the Centre Stage soundtrack and "Walk Me Home". On this album, Mandy's has matured vocally and spiritually and this new found maturity is apparent on this release. Mandy has taken upon her usual pop / soft rock songs a new found approach and twisted them around a little with a little bit of eastern influence which is apparent on the first few tracks of this 13 track long player. The leading single from this second album is the up tempo dance floor filler with an apparent eastern influence in the form of the highly addictive "In My Pocket" which was moderate received internationally while failing to set the charts on fire in the US. The eastern influence continues through to "You Remind Me", "One Sided Love" and the simply stunning "Saturate Me" which could've served brilliantly as the fourth single. Mandy returns to her usual round of pop on "Crush" which is simple yet touching. The ballads are here as well in the form of "17", "When I Talk To You" but the real stand out must be "Cry" which is also featured on the soundtrack to the motion picture "A Walk To Remember". Mandy's new found maturity really shines through on this simply arranged yet it gets to the point ballad which is most definitely one of the highlights of the album. The others are up tempo fun songs in the form of "Turn The Clock Around" and "Split Chick" where Mandy claims that she can run as fast as the boys and sing and dance ballet. All in all, this is a relatively solid album which is a vast improvement upon her first and is a hell a lot better than all the other current materials that the market is flooded with. If you're a real hard core Mandy fan, I'm sure you would have checked out Mandy's contributions on two other soundtracks such as The Princess Diaries and A Walk To Remember. If Mandy keeps maturing like this, I am guessing the girl can only get better, after all, she is still 17.
