Okay, here's my review of her songs:
.)In My Pocket: great way to start off her album. This song is upbeat and fun - the video is included on this CD too. There's some confusion about the lyrics but I think it's describing an independent girl ("nothing but faith to keep me warm") who's attracted to this guy but he's not that sure yet. She tells him to "slip my heart in your back pocket" and wants to know "how~~ much for your love." ...Anyway it's a cool, fast song. 5/5
.)You Remind Me: about a girl who's falling in love again, thinking that this new guy is like the other one. The song is pretty; it was weird that she kind of slurred her words (listen for the "feels so real it must be deja vu" part and you'll see). I guess it adds to the taste because I still love this song. 5/5
.)Saturate Me: one of my personal favorites on this album! She's just been abandoned by someone~~ ("forsaken, left here, in my barren desolate") and yearns for love. It's analogous to being stranded in a desert and asking for water. The song is upbeat and catchy. 5/5
.)One Sided Love: an upbeat, rock song. Obviously about liking someone who didn't return the affection. This song has great vibes and attitude. 4/5
.)17: another one of my favorites! Mandy celebrates turning 17 and this song is really nice and ballad-like. Describes impulsiveness and a need to do something~~ for yourself. I really like it. 5/5
.)Cry: such a pretty song - it's my other favorite! It goes really well on the "Walk to Remember" soundtrack. She's touched as she sees him remembering their times together and watching him cry. 5/5
.)Crush: I expected this song to be better, as in more intimate. But it's just a basic outline, a captured moment of crushing on someone. It's a nice ballad. 3/5
.)It Only Took a Minute: nice song, repeats the title a bit too much in the~~ chorus. About falling in love at first sight. 5/5
.)Turn the Clock Around: she's regretting letting this guy go and I think the song expresses this really well. Usually all you get are these "want you back" themes, this is a more realistic - and yet, idealistic - way of seeing it. 5/5
.)Yo-Yo: a fast song talking about being played. It has attitude like "One Sided Love." 3/5
.)From Loving You: sounds countryish - but she does a good job and sounds really mature. ~~ She's thinking back on how love has changed her. 4/5
.)Split Chick: picks up the beat again. An odd set of lyrics but fun to listen to all the same. It's energetic and tells about doing whatever you want the way you want. 4/5
.)When I Talk to You: co-written by Mandy and is a true ballad. Kind of soft and wispy, sad and reminiscent; she's remorseful that her guy doesn't understand her. 4.5/5~
