Going her own way pays off big for Mandy

Right off the bat, I have to say, if your one of those people who are thinking to themself "Mandy Moore? She's just like all the other female pop singers out there!" I said think again. Instead of giving into the Britney-clone road that some artist are trailing, Mandy goes out on a limb and gives it a different style and flair that even Britney couldn't pull off. Result? This amazing album gives you a big music horizion with sweet ballads and groovy middle-eastern dance beats and the old Mandy dance tracks. Here's my review of the songs:

1. In My Pocket - This song combines so many kinds of music together to offer one awesome dance track that no one can resist! 10/10

2. U Remind Me - An example of a song that was on her older CDs. Has a great intro but runs just a tad dry. 6.5/10

3. Saturate Me - Maybe a little out there lyrics to it but a great song either way. This has a better foriegn beat than Shakira's song! 9/10

4. One Sided Love - Gots lots of attitude to it. Background music to it is less than great. 7/10

5. 17 - This is what I thought Mandy's next single should have been but she choose "Cry". Both are great so I won't complain. 9/10

6. Cry - Her single out right now, the chourus to this is really powerful. This song meant the most to Mandy. 9/10

7. Crush - She is saying what everyone else is thinking on this song. Teenagers can relate to this song. A great 2nd single. 10/10

8. It Only Took A Minute - Overall a great ballad, it has violins in the background, very classy. 8.5/10

9. Turn The Clock Around - This song gets caught between the borders. The background vocals get annoying quickly 6/10

10. Yo-Yo - Mixes pop and R&B beats together for an edgy, take charge song. 8/10

11. From Loving You - A slow moving, cool grooving song. A big step towards being a diva. 8.5/10

12. Split Chick - A high energy, little fun song. Very catchy. 9/10

13. When I Talk To You - A mature song that's perfect to end with. 8/10

I really don't care if this album breaks chart history or anything like that, I just want to see Mandy grow and come and break the boundries set before with another album. And I can honestly say that if I was stuck on an island and could only bring my top 5 CDs, this would be one of them. Overall, pop music has got a new face in town that's not going to play by the rules.
