Mandy Goes In A Great New Direction

I bought this album for the first two singles, "In My Pocket" and "Crush". I am a pop fan, and I liked every song off Mandy's first album. I began to listen to this entire album and started to have second thoughts about buying it. Mainly the first few songs didn't stand out when I first heard them, but the latter tracks were outstanding. They have to be some of the best songs I've heard from a pop singer. But some don't really feel like pop. My favorites are track 6 - "Cry" which is a beautiful song from her movie A Walk To Remember, and track 11 -"From Loving You" which sort of sounds like it has a country influence. "Yo-Yo" and "Split Chick" have an upbeat, but almost alternative feel. Quite alot more than I expected. The thing is, on second listening, every song gets more and more stuck in your head, like "One Sided Love", and now I love every song on the album! It's much better on repeat listening. She has a more mature sound and I think if she keeps this up, we will be hearing Mandy for years to come.
