But she's only been around for a few years.

Mandy Moore is a very talented singer in her own right. But why have this album out? She hasn't had as many hits as Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, her competition back in '99. I think that this was an attempt to put it out the same time that Britney put out her greatest hits album for the holiday shoppers. I love songs like Candy, I Wanna Be With You, the Middle Eastern-sounding In My Pocket that Emilio Estefan produced, the '70s sounding Walk Me Home, Crush, Cry and those remakes from Coverage. But four albums of selected songs and soundtrack material doesn't really represent her enough. Moore made an effort to update her music to get her off the fun bubblegum image and she succeeded. I loved the '99 debut, fun effort even if Mandy doesn't like to talk about it now. The 2001 album was very well done. The remake album, well, I would have preferred her to sing all new songs instead, but she wanted to do something different. It's all too soon to put an album out by someone who been around only 5 years.
