I'd give this CD 10 stars if I could.

(10/10)I didn't like this CD when I first got it. (Actually, I got the tape, wore that out, then got the CD.) Compared to their usual releases, this music was more "jarring" and less mainstream.
But the music grew on me. The Transfer's trademark harmonies and solos were all in there. The combination of old jazz melodies and Jon Hendricks' amazing lyrics made me come back for repeated listenings.
My only complaint is that "Ray's Rockhouse" made it to the "Very Best of MT" CD. It's not a bad song, but IMHO there are far better ones on "Vocalese."
