Kings of Metal?
Review Score:

(8/10)
I can't figure Manowar out. What they say and what they do are two different things. At times I believe they are actually the false metal band they claim to despise so much. The first two albums, Battle Hymns and Into Glory Ride, are indeed very good. After that, many of their albums contain weak, ballad-y tunes with violins, boys choirs, spoken word stuff. Crap, essentially, and definitely not "power metal". Are these guys brain dead, or do they think this stuff is heavy? You don't see Slayer doing that stuff. So who are the true kings of metal? Slayer win hands down. Manowar do a lot of boasting, but fail to consistently deliver. I don't wanna hear freakin violins or piano's on a metal album!!! My copy of Hell on Stage hasn't come in yet, but I'll give it an honorary 4 stars since I've seen them live before, although that was in the 80's. If they dare to play a power ballad, however, my ranking will be reduced to 2 stars. KINGS OF METAL DONT'T PLAY BALLADS, GET IT??? Leave them for Ozzy and Aerosmith!!!
