The production on this is a bit better than most Manowar outings though not quite so bombastic as Triumph of Steel's. There are a few metal anthems, a few very heavy songs(in fact rivaling a good amount of their previous material) and a few "ballads" as some would call them. All in all it makes for a much more complete listening experience, like a story is being told to you using music instead of words and it truly is beautiful to hear. Now let's crack this down...
1. Call to Arms - What an excellent beginning, a song that is halfway in between being one of their heavier songs and one of their metal anthems.
2. The Fight for Freedom - This is great patriotic stuff, very uplifting and moving.
3. Nessun Dorma - One of my favorites off of this, a cover of an old famous opera, this is just absolutely beautiful in every way and proves once again that Eric Adams is the absolute greatest vocalist in all of heavy metal.
4. Valhalla - Not much to say about this, just a little 40 second interlude, interesting though.
5. Swords in the Wind - Definitly something you can sing along to, great song.
6. An American Trilogy - This is another one many people complain about but I personally think is a wonderful song embodying the patriotism of other tracks with the excellent dramatic music of Nessun Dorma.
7. The March - An orchestral instrumental, it certainly isn't Beethoven but this is beyond what I could expect from any metal band. This is great to listen to, emotional and sweeping.
8. Warriors of the World United - The best anthem on the album, I can't wait to be singing along to this when I see them live.
9. Hand of Doom - Well here we go Manowar die-hards, this is one of their heaviest tracks to date, this should totally satisfy your hunger for Manowar music more true to the old days, just an excellent song in general as well.
10. House of Death - Sort of like part 2 of the last song, more formulaic but also more rockin', this is another hall of fame hit for Manowar.
11. Fight Until We Die - Good song but is this really the best way to finish this? Makes you ache for the days of Blood of the Kings, Bridge of Death, and March for Revenge (by the soldier's of death) but oh well.
All in all this album is simply put, amazing, pick it up!
