(10/10)To anyone to who would like to get a better insight into the musical mind of Marc Almond, buy this disc! The people at Thirsty Ear have done a wonderful job at recent re-issues of Marc's work, and this is no exception. Mother Fist is a perfect blend of new and old, using all kinds of different "un rock" types of instraments. There is a French feel to the disc, and the song writing captures the seedy aspects of people's lives without sounding seedy. Classic tracks are "There is a Bed" and "Saint Judy". "The Champ" is also an awesome tune. Also includes three singles, "Melancholy Rose", "Ruby Red", and "Mother Fist". This should have done better tham it's dismal #41 chart placing on the UK LP charts, and wasn't even originally released in the US. I guess the plus side is that Almond remains a "Best Kept Secret"!
