Marc Anthony is the reason why salsa has blown up the way it has. I was at his Roseland concert in New York this past Wednesday and I must say he was amazing.I was in the balcony right in front of the stage and I still could not believe how beautiful his voice is.It has been a dream of mine to meet him face to face and tell him how proud I am of his achievements.I gleamed with pride during the concert and it was as if I knew him on a personal level.I was there with my husband(who was a bit jealous)and he couldn't agree with me more on how he has represented Puerto Rico to the fullest. I was disappointed not to get a picture and a hug from this beautiful man, but I was satisfied that I was given the chance to witness his excellent performance.I was quite disturbed though by some of the executives I was sitting with . I was next to Sony head Honcho Tommy Mattola and his new flame Thalia.They were of course surrounded by their people and I'm guessing P&R people,I was just so frusrated by their arrogance towards myself and the other Marc Anthony fans who were also in the balcony. It was as if we didnt exist and for the first time I felt like I was being looked at as if were garbage. I was deeply hurt and felt very uncomfortable. I was given V.I.P. passes from my mother as a birthday gift, she is friends with owners of Roseland.I was very excited to see Marc so I made sure My husband and myself were very presentable. My mother told me that there may be a very good chance that I could meet him in person with those passes so I made sure to look my best.I had the displeasure of overhearing two women talking in the restrooms about Marc and I quote"Which one out of the three spanish albums do you recommend?" and she was answered with this response"Well I think the last one is good but the other two weren't that good."I was disgusted by the nerve of these two women who probably can't understand a word he is saying because it is in spanish.I wanted to tell them a few words but I chose not to due to the fact they were with the Sony crowd and I didnt want to get thrown out before I got a chance to meet him.I just think with the new wave of fans who are now going to recieve him as a english singer will never truly adore him like his latino following. We have appreciated him from the beginning and will continue well into his english singing career.I have been a fan of Marc Anthony's since his first album dropped and have been whipped since and I get a little offensive when people come out of no where to criticize what they can't understand.Marc all I have to say from the Puerto Rican community in New York is that we love you and appreciate everything you do whether it is salsa,movies,Broadway or the new Pop Latino craze. We are proud of what you are and who you are and please don't let anyone let you forget where you came from Boricua!!!Que vive Puerto Rico WWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPAAAAAAA!!!!
