Incredible voice, but bland songs

Marc Anthony undoubtedly has one of the best male singing voices going today, and "I Want to Know" is a great single. However, most of his English language is composed of sound alike ballads. I've listened to it a number of times since it was released, and most of the songs do not really stick out or are particularly memorable. One exception is "She's Been Good to Me," which was produced by Rodney Jerkins and is an uptempo salsa-flavored song. Of note, several of the songs were co-written and produced by Walter Afanasieff, who did many of Mariah Carey's early ballads. If you like that kind of material, you'll probably like this CD - otherwise beware. A disappointment...hopefully his new CD, which will be released soon, will be more interesting.
