Here it is. THe definitive Marilyn Manson classic. No matter what those protesters say, this is music at its best. This is the album that caused so much controversy and spun off a million rip off bands. Antichrist Superstar is the story of the antichrist's journey to earth, his birth, his growing up, and eventually his rise to power. It is a viscieral amazing journey into music that not only encompasses metal, but is gothic beauty at its best. The album starts with "Irresponsible Hate Anthemn", a ravaging song full of exactly what the title suggests. It tells of the antichrist falling from heaven and flipping off God the whole way down. Other notables are "Dried Up Tied Up and Dead to the World" perhaps the most tuneful song that has great lyrics. The title track is a powerful army-like war song that will have you banging your head in no time. Always as the best of Manson's albums though, are there strangely eery yet beautiful songs such as "Cryptochild", "Kinderfeld" and the absolutely sad and beautiful "Man that You Fear". Of course "Beautiful People" is on here too along with plenty of other tracks to fill your hungry ears. This album lives up to all the hype and exceeds it. It is an amazing piece of concept art that does what few concept albums can. IT tells a story clearly and interesting without getting bogged down with details. Many people pass it off as a moronic album that promotes satanism. That's completely untrue. If you simply take the time to listen to the lyrics you'll find an amazing tale of one angry man gaining power and simply trying to voice his opinion.
