Put aside all the "Manson-Hater" comments and listen to the album for what it is. Perhaps if there was not so much conflict between the "Manson's Not Goth" crowd and true fans, this album would have received even more credit then it did with it's release. "Beautiful People" has become such a timeless hit blasting more then just "Beautiful People". It goes beyond the obvious meaning, and to all those people who refuse to expand their musical horizon and refuse to listen to anything except underground music are just another one of the beautiful people. If you truly don't like Manson's music, fine...but to be "afraid" to admit you like him because your "true goth" friends won't like you that's crappy. And to not like him because he became too "mainstream", that is also stupid. Any artist who says he does not want to bigger then just underground, that's bulls***. No one is saying you have to collaborate with the Backstreet Boys or change your music just because your well known. It would be a greater success to have your music heard by more then just the underground so you can expand your musical message and maybe make a difference rather then just being close minded. Anyway, back to the album. I could go on and on about each individual song, but they are all great. A true masterpiece indeed. I will always remember this album, and will most likely find myself listening to it even many years down the road. Very high marks go out to Marilyn Manson, A+.
