I am not a Marilyn Manson fan. But I think a lot of people who are not his fans own at least one album by him. Why. Well the reason is this. He does bring something into our culture which is interresting and makes us wan't to go one day into a record shop and pick up a cd with Marilyn Manson. And that is what Antichrist Superstar did. After this album a group of people (at least in my country began dressing in goth clothes and some of them dressing up like Marilyn Manson and they began calling themselves The Marilyn Manson gang). They walked around Reykjavík at lest about 100 people were in the group and not many people live in Icealand and walked around stores and shops and many kids as well as adults gave them a hard eye. Well today this group has resolved. A lot of the kids who were in it probably were so embarresed they quit and the other people too. Now they just listen to his music.

This album containes the smash single The Beautiful People and a lot of other songs here which deals with some way religios and controversial issues. But I heard that this album is not as dark as the bands previous A Portrait of An American Family. But this one is heavier.

But I don't like Marilyn Manson now. He has become a little bit a sellout. Becoming a lot more mainstream than he was and showing more often on MTV. I don't Like it. After Mechnical Animals grew less popular than this album (at least in Europe). The band released their 4th album Holy Wood. It worked in a way but not entirely. I say that he needs to go more into an album like his previous work. Thank you.
