Maybe not his best look, but definatly his best CD. I've heard all Marilyns CD's and this one stands out the most. Dont get me wrong, I think all of Manson's albums are great, but pff who made Antichrist his "best"? this, Mechanical Animals in my point of view is incredibly under-rated! There should be a 6th voting button on this CD. I love their glam/rock sort of attitude and sound here. The first 6 songs are brilliant, their just pure rock. My favourite song on this album is 'Disassociative'. Their emotional too, and its good to hear a not-type-slayer-lyrics band for once. I would'nt call this C.D heavy. 'Great Big White World' goes for about 5 minutes, and has a fantastic solo in it. It's pretty slow at times. You've probably heard the big hit off the album, 'The Dope Show', Twiggy's best bass part ever. The chorus is cool, it's catchy, and his lyrics are meaningful, like always. The title song 'Mechanical Animals' is a CD highlight and Manson's voice is grunge style. 'They'll never be good to you, bad to you, they'll never be anything, anything at all.' In this song, Manson has a voice thing done to make it sounds cool. I don't like 'Rock is Dead' ANYMORE. 'The Speed Of Pain' would probably be my second favourite. The opening guitar riff is great. Done by Twiggy!... Remember? It's Marilyn Manson in the chorus also. Download this song to see if the albums for you. But after this its the end of the rock songs. Next is glam/hard rock. I love it. Their attitude is so cool. Skip 'Posthuman' though, that song sucks. 'I Want To Disappear', wow, Has a good bass part, and its fast, and again, Marilyn's lyrics...their...bad, in a good way course. 'I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)', is a single, but not my favourite. Another glam song? sure, 'New Model, no.15' Just as good as 'I Want To Disappear', (5/5), Their very alike. The chorus is very catchy, 'I'm the new, I'm the new, new model, I've got nothing inside, Better at the head, and better at the office'. 'User Friendly' is another glam rock masterpiece. His lyrics have gone very bad-ass here. I love all these songs! Except the next one... 'The Last Day on Earth' is another rock one. Emotional too. 'Coma White', ends the CD VERY WELL. Slow, and a little heavier at some times. Another single for the album. See the video. The bass part in this song is awesome, a lot like the others, but the solo is pretty bad. Buy this C.D right now, If you love real-rock, you'll fall in love.
