... Manson has patterns in his CD's? American Family ... Great! Smells Like Children ... Sh*t! Antichrist Superstar ... Excellent! Mechanical Animals ... What the F*ck?! (I liked it, though. Not true for others...) Holy Wood ... Sublime! And now The Golden Age of Grotesque ... Trash! GAOG is a lot better than most stuff out there that passes for rock (disturbed, blink 182, nickelback, coldplay, creed, etc), but it's not as good as other stuff. But noticing the pattern, since every other disc is crap, we're looking forward to something good. Plus, Manson constantly gets new musicians and fires the old on most discs. Not only that, he also goes in different directions on each one. (social commentary, industrial, swing, and glam to date) I gave it a 4 because I somewhat liked it and because Manson is a multi talented man (also an author, artist, and screenwriter) who deserves some slack. Which other musician today can give you a different experience on every album? Marilyn Manson is basically a heavy metal survey course. Plus, there were some good songs on the album too. (Vodevil, Ka-Boom Ka-Boom, Use Your Fist and Not Your Mouth, and the Golden Age of Grotesque to name a few.) So I'm looking forward to his next disc. And if he finds some distributors with balls, the Holy Wood movie and novel, too.
