The tunes and themes have a definite Cajun and French twist (Done with Bonaparte, Golden Heart, Je Suis Desole, Night in Summer Long Ago), but that's not all you'll get with this CD. MK throws in a bit of his now classic "country twist" (Are We in Trouble Now), his standard slow and smoky musical tours (Rudiger, Vic and Ray, Nobody's Got the Gun) and a sweet love song tribute to his wife Kitty (Darling Pretty).
The musical quality of this album shines from the first run through the album. The miracle of Knopfler music however is that the songs continue to grow on you each time you listen -- instead of getting tired of the tunes, you listen harder each time because you pick up some new wrinkle to his works every time you listen.
A highly recommended CD for any fan of adult rock and roll, guitar enthusiasts, former Dire Straits fans or folks who enjoy creative musical cross-over works.
