Arriving in Philly

When Mark Knopfler arrived in circa late 70s, maybe 80, I thought his breakout album extraordinary. This album contains what is arguably his best single, "What it is". Haunting, lyrical, beautiful, inviting. Alone, this one cut is worth purchasing.

But, there is James Taylor's melodic voice on Sailing to Philly, and later Van Morrison helping out.

Twenty some years after Dire Straits burst on the scene, this is one of the best albums to listen to when the mood is low key, the snow is falling at a rate of one inch an hour or you are in need of solace.
