Better than his last solo effort.

I still can't get into his previous release, "Golden Heart." The only good song on it IMO is "Darling Pretty"--the rest of it is pretty bland. None of the songs stuck with me. This album is MUCH better.

"Sailing to Philadelphia" has some much more memorable songs. I like the tracks with guest artists James Taylor and Van Morrison especially. Some of the songs are kind of annoying and I usually skip through them ('do america' and 'el macho' specifically).

Overall though, a very good album. Recording quality is very high too.
