Clearly Mary's best.

As a fan of Mary Black's music and a singer of both contemporary and traditional Celtic music, I have listened, interpreted, and imitated Mary's music for over seven years now. I am always anxious for her next release and have purchased each. NO FRONTIERS is, without reservation, her best work. It represents the best of the traditional world of Celtic music and goes beyond, moving the evocative rhythms and harmonies into a sort of blended genre all its own. Though I appreciate the improved sound technology on her later recordings, I much prefer the true sound of Mary on this recording. SHINE is interesting and not without merit, but leaves one with the feeling that Mary sold out for the larger market of Pop music.
