Masterpiece of the 90's
Review Score:
(10/10)Sweet finally threw away the drum-machine that was holding back his career back; and somehow learned how to play and compose guitars. Playing bass for Lloyd Cole may have contributed to this leap; there are some common elements between the themes, players and sounds of LC's first solo disk. In any case GF stands on its own from whatever it evolved from; kudos to Quine, Richard Lloyd and Cole for recognizing Sweet's talent early on. Standout tracks are Looking at the Sun, Sweet Voice, Though I Knew You, Evangeline and Divine Intervention.
