best Rock album of the decade

The 90's are over, all the nominees are in, and the winner of "Best Rock Album of the Decade" is...drumroll..."Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet!

Matthew at the peak of his creative power with Sweet love songs, complaints, the angst of the young. With sceaming lead guitarists helping. "Divine Intervention", is the anthem of the decade. Cynical, angry, hopeful, joyful, with a picture of Tuesday Weld on the cover. Jangling Byrds type guitars. "Power Pop", with a nod to the 60's/70's, and it's feet planted firmly in the present.

This CD has more staying power than anything else in it's eon. In fifty years when the "oldies" stations are playing the single best rock CD of the 90's this is it. Your wrong, Matt- This is the one for the timecapsule!

Cannot be recommneded too highly.

Now if Matthew Sweet could only find this perfect mix again!
