Mayhem's Attack

This is an incredible Mayhem album although different from the others. The production quality is rather low compared to other Mayhem albums, but that does not hurt it too much. It's dark, black, sinister and brutal, and will deliver if you are a fan of the band. If you are a black metal fan and not familiar with them, I would recomend starting with "Chimera," as it has more of the raw vocals that are more typical of Mayhem. To me, the vocals make the album feel more like Immortal and Satyricon, not quite as original as their others, so that is why I did not give it a higher rating; I still think it is killer black metal and a worthy purchase.
