This is one filthy, nasty, mean, crude, etc... cd. The picture of this album should be on the side of the definition of black metal. This is what exactly what bm is all about. Dead's vocals were a perfect fit for Mayhem and their classic lineup of then (Dead, Euronymous, Necrobutcher & Hellhammer). You know the sound you make when you vomit? Well then that's the best way to describe Dead's vocals on "Live In Leipzig". He's vomiting and shouting the lyrics at the same time. Attila's voice on "De Myteriis Dom Sathanas" is a growling, raspy and grimacing type of voice and is pale compared to Dead's gutpuking sound, but then again I don't think anyone can sound as heavy as Dead. The recording is very raw and low quality but since it's rare that's why they probably released it. I've heard some nasty music but when I first popped in this cd I have to say that I was freaked, even intimidated at how sinister they were on this recording. If there's any form of music that's heavier than this I'd like to know what it is. This is the sound of pure evil making music.
