I thought it would be best to get the downside out of the way at the beginning because I still think this is a sensational purchase and it breaks my heart to say anything bad about one of Meatloaf's greatest albums. But that aside, the songs which are featured on this album are fantasic. It has everything good, from 'I'd do anything for love' to 'Bat out of hell'. Also, the three new songs do not let the album down. 'Home by now/ no matter what' is a fasinating song right from the chilling introduction to the fantastic climax. This song was so good that it was then covered by Boyzone a year later, titled 'No matter what'. 'A kiss is a terrible thing to waste' is also a great song which features Bonnie Tyler. The lyrics 'Tyre tracks and broken hearts' at the end of the song were also featured in one of Meatloafs earlier songs 'Peel Out'. This song doesn't sound like a Meatloaf song but the sensational orchestra keeps you hooked. 'Is nothing sacred' is also a good song but it has very simple lyrics and takes a while to get into.
This album gives a fantastic all-round image of Meatloafs career and is possibly one of the greatest compilations put together, ever.
