Let me first tell you that this was my very first Megadeth cd. It was only a few minutes long considering that this was probably the second most commercial album they've sold (right next to Cryptic Writings). The songs here are perfect for a veteran or any hardcore Megadeth fan or a beginner. Not as epic as their early stuff, but this is definitely worth your cash.The only letdown of the album is the length.

It starts with the brutal drum solo of the underrated "Skin O' My Teeth". The lyrcal and musical content here is beautiful.
It ends with an epic classic Megadeth tune "Ashes In Your Mouth".

The Best songs here are:
1)Skin O' My Teeth (a great opener)
2)Countdown to Extinction (a song that deals not with genocide of the human race but the extinction of our beloved animals.)
3)Architecture of Aggression (there aren't many singers who can fit this in a line)
4)This Was My Life (Very brutal)
5)Ashes in Your Mouth (a classic all the way)

The Worst:
Psychotron (bad title and bad tune...Its like Dave wanted to continue the "KIlling is My Business..." song with this crap. The lyrics are completely un-cool. The only good song Ive heard with a title similar to that is the roaring beats of "Motopsycho".

In the end, its a very mainstream album but it has its moments. Great songs all the way.
