By the time this album was released back in 1990, I've been a 'Deth fan for 2 years. And yet my extremely high expectations for "Rust in Peace" were topped!
This record is the 1st of Megadeth's constant and best line-up, consisting of founders Dave Mustaine and Dave Ellefson, with newly signed guitar genious Marty Friedman and potent drummer Nick Menza. I don't know what sparks flew between these guys, but all of a sudden everything worked just right. There's not a single wrong second on this CD, all the tracks are classics, and all are among the best Megadeth has ever released. This is highly technical thrash, with lots of shredding solos, clever and intricate basslines and excellent drumming. Dave's vocals, while not the best around, work here just fine and suite the mood of the music.

Songs vary from heavy and relatively mid-tempo "Take No Prisoners" to melodic speed-fests "Tornado of Souls" to Megadeth trade-mark thrash-n-roll "Poison Was the Cure" to a very peculiar number "Dawn Patrol". In fact, every song has to be mentioned, because the diversity of this album is something very hard to surpass.

This is Megadeth's absolutely best, and one of the better thrash-metal you can get your hands on.
