THE WORLD NEEDS A HERO is a good album from MEGADETH that has given to state of metal today a shot in the arm. The nu-metal bands need to step back and listen to how the masters do it and take good notes. Not all nu-metal is bad, but it could be better. DISCONNECT starts the album off and has some solid riffs and a melody that help kick the album off. The title track is next and is also a good song. MOTO PSYCHO is a great song that was the first song off the album and it totally rocks and shows Dave at his best on the album. 1000 TIMES GOODBYE is Dave's take on how relationships should end and it has some killer riffs and the lyrics are pretty amusing, this is a good song that should get some airplay somewhere. BURNING BRIDGES is a faster song that reminds us of how great MEGADETH can be. PROMISES has string arrangements and is a similar song to NOTHING ELSE MATTES from METALLICA. Its an average song that might have been better left from the album. RECIPE FOR HATE....WARHORSE is a song that is just as good as HOLY WARS...PUNISHMENT DUE. It is a great song that is one of the highlights of this album, it has some awesome killer riffs, full of energy just an awesome song. LOSING MY SENSES is an ok song that I thought would turn out better. It has good riffs but the song doesnt have much energy to it. DREAD AND THE FUGITIVE MIND on the other hand is full of energy and furious riffs. It is a great metal song and shows the new bands how to do it. SILENT SCORN is a good short insturmental enough said. RETURN TO HANGER is a great sequal to the classic from RUST IN PEACE. The song is full of anger, energy and great riffs. WHEN is a good song that brings the album to an end. I think that some might not like it, but they will be passing over a truly good song that once again proves my point that MEGADETH is a great metal band and they will continue to be
