You know its funny how I never really got Megadeth. I mean, I like thrash as much as the next guy (as well as death, black and power metal) but Peace Sells didn't ring any bells and I wasn't impressed by Rust In Peace either. So when a friend told me that he'd bought Youthanasia I had no reason to be interested. That is, until he played it to me.

Now, lets get this straight, I'm not a massive fan of rock. I prefer my music more extreme. But this CD just struck a chord with me that I didn't know was there. It's not metal, true, but its nonetheless a great album. I would say that a band who have expanded their sound have sold out. I mean, if you were a teeny-bopper would you buy an album by a band called Megadeth? This simply shows that they can write melodic rock as well as thrash, and in my opinion they do it better.

This contains some brilliant songs. It's got catchy choruses, great riffs, delicious leads (the fact that even though Master Of Puppets is regarded as Metallica's greatest album people still say that the best leads are on Kill Em All, and why? Because Dave wrote them) make for a very pleasing album. The opening track could be better, but all the others rock hard. The best tracks are Train Of Consequences, A Tout Le Monde and Youthanasia.

So anyway, this is a great album. Very listenable, very good. Oh, and a band who sell out don't continue to play solos like this. So accept it! Great album. Go buy now!
