Diehard fans of Megadeth's early speed-metal records may complain about this album (and everything else recorded by 'Deth after Rust in Peace) but anyone with more diverse metal tastes will thoroughly enjoy this album. It is heavy but melodic, and in my opinion this is Dave Mustaine's best vocal performance of his career. This was the third album with the Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza lineup, and the continuity paid big dividends - the musicianship is really solid.
