If you liked "Peace sells" and "So far so good so what" you will put a price on Dave Mustaine's head for making this record. If "Countdown to Extinction" was rather your taste you will love this record, for it goes in the same direction, just a little bit less metal and more softer tunes. This isn't a bad album for people who liked Metallica's black Album or Reload, but for the ones that got to know Megadeth by their earlier recordings, I think it's hell. Forget about double-bass drumming, fast guitars and riot solos, welcome chart-song writing and MTV "serious rock" attitude. Don't get me wrong this Album has it's highpoints too: Dave doesn't sing as terrible as sometimes on the older records and there are no real weak songs like the shameful covers of "Anarchy in the U.K." or "I ain't superstitious". After some time, I got to like nearly every song on this CD, but it isn't a milestone and it isn't worth all the puplicity done for it. If you are looking for innovation, go elsewhere, if you are about to open up a bar and need some music for the rush hours, get it. But don't be fooled : This isn't a Metal CD, it lacks Attitude, Feeling and Energy.
