What really gets on my nerves is whenever a rapper raps with Eminem, it always has to be an 'Eminem beat'. A definition of this is 'The Cross', the second song on the CD. Though Eminem is one of my favorite rappers, it doesn't sound right when other rappers rap with his beat. 'Made You Look', the first released single is definately the best song on the CD. 'Last Real N*gga Alive' is another diss to Gay-Z but is not as good as 'Ether'. 'I Can', the 2nd release, is another great track containing a sample of a great tune. The lyrics in this are amazing. 'Book of Rhymes' is another great track produced by The Alchemist, 'Warrior's Song', however, is a let-down to the CD. I really don't like the tune as it sounds stupid. 'Dance' is however the most touching song on the album. Dedicated to his mom (similar to 2pac's- 'Dear Mama') after she died, this has such a soft but great tune and the lyrics are outstanding.
Overall, Nas has yet again brought to us another great album but the question is, will we ever get to hear the 'Nasty Nas' again?
