this album is magnificent. i've been listening to a lot of rap lately and i must say that though many artists and albums have great beats, the lyrical content often falls flat. its just cookie cutter lyrics about crime and women.

this album is a refreshing change. it is one of the most personal albums i've ever heard and it shows how nas has matured over the years. he has taken the trials of his life to heart and many of the songs are about overcoming hardships and loss. if you have ever found strength in adversity and even have a slight disposition toward hip hop, i deeply recommend this album. in the last 3 albums, stillmatic, lost tapes and god's son, nas has shown that he is the undisputed king of new york. i'm greatly looking foward to the next album.
