Nas (Nasir Jones) 4th album "Nastradamus" came out in 1999, the 2nd album he dropped that year. Executive produced by Nas, track production comes from: DJ Premier, Havoc,Timbaland, N. Myrick, C. Broady, L.E.S.,and Dame Grease. Guest apperances come from Mobb Deep, Ron Isley, Bravehearts and Ginuwine. Alot of people say this is Nas's worst album, and I have to agree. That said Nas is one of my favourite rappers, and having followed him from the classic "Illmatic" to his latest "God's Son" I consider every album of his worth having in the collection. For me the album has two standout tracks L.E.S. produced "Life We Choose" and the excellent "Project Windows" feat. Ron Isley, I like the collabration of Nas lyrics, Ron Isleys Vocals and a memorable beat on this. Two videos were made for tracks on this album: one for the title "Nastradamus" and the other "You Owe Me" feat. Ginuwine, I don't like either song- not to say there bad- they just have very limited appeal to me while I see how they could have more mainstream appeal for some and when your trying to push units thats what an artist needs. There are some other decent tracks like "Come Get me", "Last Words" and "God Love Us". The rest of the albums tracks dont stand out for me though there are no tracks I would call bad. For me "Nastradamus" is an average Nas album , his next album "Stillmatic" (2001) on the other hand remains one of my favourites, and the follow up albums "The Lost Tapes" (2002)and "God's Son" (2002) have shown the Hip Hop world how skilled an MC Nas is.
