Nas

Nastradamus

What a great album!

This CD is one of the best and best produced albums of the year. No it is not "Illmatic" but u can't compare the style of the Nas on "Illmatic" to the style Nas brings today. In 1994 he came hard with the gangster street mentality of "Illmatic" (like NY State of Mind, Represent, One Love, One Time 4 your Mind and pretty much every other song on "Illmatic") all those songs brought out the message of thug mentality and ghetto survival. But you cannot call "Nastradamus" wack. He diversified his style to reach all perspectives of his mentality every song had a personality of Nas. "Life We Chose" and "Project Windows" were about the streets and the hood... "Shoot 'em Up" and "Family" were the gangsta style tracks he brought out on "Illmatic" "God Love Us" and "Some of us Have Angels" hit the message about the lord and good and evil..and "New World" was a track that made you think about where life is going and how we should progress thru it (not some bs Y2K message that people think it is). This is Nas's most diverse album where he shows all the aspects of his style. This is not "Illmatic" but it is definitely a CD u should get. Nas did not fall of he is diversifying his style. This piece is packed with poetic technique that is not in any other album out right now. Definitely purchase this Cd.Nastradamus is not the greatest rap album ever made, but it is very good. People keep expecting him to be the same Nas as he was on Illmatic. That is just not gonna happen. I think that Nas is better now. He has matured and now raps about more important things in life. He can't rap about how hard he is because he doesn't live that life anymore. He would be fake if he rapped about how he hustles and stuff because he doesn't! If Nas were to be like he was on Illmatic, people would still have something to complain about. Biggie changed between his two albums and no one said anything because he died. If Nas died, all of these albums would be considered classics because of the lyrical content. The production is up to date. I don't want to hear the same sound of 1994. While "Nastradamus" is not quite as good as "I Am", is comes real close. Nas is the best rapper right now, no question about it. He has a great style but is not getting the fame he deserves.

Nas: Nastradamus

This is Nas' 4th studio album and it's a good one. I'll admit, this is not one of the best albums from Nas. He dropped this album and "I A [ ... read complete review ]
