IN one word I can describe this album...PHAT! NAS comes RAW yet again. I LOVE his beats on here and his rhymes shine even brighter.
Nas is a UNIQUE emcee, whereas you have a bunch of other hip hop artists doing songs about shaking bootie's and stuff NAS does the SAME thing EXCEPT he does it in a clever way. A way which one who actually knows how to decipher lyrics will LOVE.
NAS is nowhere NEAR being a WEAK rhymer. On tracks like Big Girl NAS spits some ill rhymes telling the listener about the trouble girls bring upon themselves when they get involved with a CELEB. Or how about tracks like GOD LOVE US? that to me is his best. He raps(as usual) over a string intrumental tpye beat chanting in the chorus: God love us hood .....
YOu can't help but feel NAS. People who are BIG on BEATS(NAS' old beats) probably won't like this album, but if you are into deep(and complex) rhymes then this album is a must have.
Every single track has something to say, but it is up to your mind to decipher it because NAS just doesn't feed you simple rhymes-he expects the listener to listen. BUt it is rather obvious that MOST hip hop heads today are into beats and beats ONLY. THIS IS BAD because IMPORTANT lyrics are often missed and NAS has those IMPORTANT rhymes to spit. He's much better than DMX, JIGGA and all those other rappers who claim money and money only(although I think there is MORE to JIGGA than just the dolla bill).
In all, NAS' latest album is HYPE. ONe thing he could have done without was that annoying poet in his skits(she was weak as hell).
