Who is the better MC between Nas and Jay-Z? Well, that depends on your view. Jay-Z hits a wider range audience because of the type of music he makes. He has a knack of throwing in the right words at the right time and is undoubtly one of the most wittiest MCs ever. Nas doesn't appeal to the same audience. He is more like a street philosopher that depicts pictures so vividly that you could swear you were there with him when it happened. Regardless of your prejudice, I must say that Jay-Z woke up the beast in Nas. After almost falling off the map with Nastradamus, he returned with avengence on Stillmatic. Every cut on this album is hot (my album doesn't include Braveheart Party). It isn't pop or commercial rap, but hip-hop. A lot of people can't really seem to understand that. I don't know if it is peoples' backgrounds, upbringing, religious/social beliefs, or if people are just ignorant and stupid. That's probably why almost every girl I know doesn't like Nas. Well, maybe it is because we live in the south and they really don't know better; maybe it is because they just wan't something that they can shake their *ss to. Regardless, Nas is one of my top 3 MCs. Get this album and get all of his other albums (except Nastradamas and maybe I Am ...).
