I am not going to compare this album to early Illmatic nas, or to any of jay-zs albums. Instead I want to describe why this album is so solid.
Not every song on this cd is great but as a whole it works so well..it flows like water.
the intro, youre da man, rewind, 2nd childhood, destroy and rebuild, the flyest, and rule are all excellent songs. The lyrics are strong and inciteful, Nas displays his amazing capability to produce tight, street-worthy music. Lyrically there aren't too many around anymore that can compete with Nas's finesse. This album is perfect for just chilling outto an thinkingonto..it should be considered as close to classic as you can get. You need to have this cd if youre a fan of nas and if you tihnk hes wack this should open your eyes. ya know how it goes peace
