Nas was an MC with his back against the wall back in 2001. Jay-Z was being looked upon as the king of new york and the takeover was fresh in our minds. Nas sucked it all up and went into the lab to unleash "Ether". To me this track wasn't just at Jigga but at the entire rap world who doubted his skills. Nas took the radio by storm and released "Got Myself a G**" to show that he was ready for war. After Stillmatic was in the stores Nas dropped the monumental "One Mic" single and video. The hip hop nation saw an mc that went from being almost forgotten to the mc that exposed Jay-Z and new king of new york. Nas said he was Stillmatic obviously because Illmatic gave him praise as being one of hip hops finest..The Timing for Nasty Nas was perfect and he took advantage of the opportunity...
